OPEX® Falcon® Series Document Scanners Updated to Meet New Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI)

October 25, 2023

MOORESTOWN, NJ – October 25, 2023 – OPEX Corporation, a global leader in Next Generation Automation providing solutions for document, mail, and warehouse automation, has developed scanning solutions capable of meeting FADGI 3-star U.S. government guidelines for digital records.

The Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) has created a set of standards that must be met to accept digital documents and audiovisual files. The new FADGI guidelines take effect June 30, 2024.

To prepare for the transition, OPEX has adapted its best-in-class Falcon+® series document scanners with FADGI capability for clients that are federal entities or private companies that provide services to government agencies, including libraries, medical organizations, and business process outsourcing (BPO) clients.

“With nearly 50 years in business, we continue to develop automation technology that helps our clients solve their business challenges today, and in the future,” said Jeff Bowen, President, Document and Mail Automation at OPEX. “Adding FADGI capability to our Falcon scanners is important not only to clients working with U.S. federal agencies. We are seeing signs that it may evolve to become a broader standard in document imaging at the state and local government level, internationally, and throughout the private sector.”

Falcon document scanners are designed to collapse preparation and scanning into one seamless workflow, removing the need for additional inefficient and costly prep stages with an innovative process called One-Touch scanning.

Powered by intelligent software, Falcon+ scanners with CertainScan® software provide state-of-the-art image quality, legendary paper handling, flexible outputs, and repeatable quality control.

Falcon+ and FalconV+ scanners will now feature FADGI Image Tools to create archival-quality images at 300 dpi using the same profiles and settings used to validate FADGI conformance. In addition, they easily switch from FADGI to non-FADGI applications.

FADGI Image Tools are available on new Falcon+ scanners, and as a retrofit option for clients already using Falcon+.

OPEX will also provide the support needed to help organizations successfully make the transition, including professional installation, configuration services, software support, and maintenance services to ensure compliance over the life of the OPEX products.
